Audio Post Production Manager
In 2004 I came back to the UK after many years living abroad. I was about to look for a job when Tim asked me if I would do some maternity cover for the manager at the time. I didn’t know anything about the sound industry back then, although as a child I used to record sound effects for fun! In 2006 I went to London for a short spell, working as sound assistant to James Mather on Notes on a Scandal. I came back to work part time at Buffalo whilst studying for a Fine Art degree. I graduated in 2011 and I’ve been running Buffalo ever since.
What is your favourite film for sound?
Anything that Buffalo has worked on of course! I also love the sound that Aardman Animation create for their films. They manage to convey so much emotion and atmosphere, often in place of dialogue… notably The Wrong Trousers and Shaun the Sheep The Movie.
What is the most interesting aspect of your job?
The last 18 months have definitely been the most interesting and challenging. I’ve been overseeing the building and kitting out of our new Dolby Atmos dubbing theatre, alongside running the existing Buffalo. I’ve learnt heaps throughout the process, and am extremely proud of the result. It’s already so rewarding to see how well it’s being received throughout the industry and I’m excited about the new clients and further opportunities it will bring.
What is unique about working at Wounded Buffalo?
I’m constantly impressed by how much everyone at Buffalo cares about what they do. The atmosphere here is unique due to a healthy balance of being professional and hardworking yet friendly and welcoming.
